Module: Interactive Brush Tool ()

Description:

The segmentation brush tool allows perfoming manual segmentation of the visualized data. This tool can be used to edit a current selection or create a selection from scratch. This tool is only available in the segmentation workroom.

To activate the tool, the interaction tool has to be selected in the viewer where the selection has to be done.

When this tool is activated, you can select regions by brushing voxels with the left mouse button pressed. If the Ctrl key is held down, voxels are deselected instead of being selected.

Right-clicking in an unselected area that is completely enclosed by selected voxels fills this area. For example, you may draw along the border of an object until the selection is closed and then right-click into the unselected area to fill it. Also here, the Ctrl key inverts the operation, i.e., it deselects all voxels connected with the clicked voxel.

Connections:

No explicit connections can be modified in this tool. Two data are required and automatically connected:

Ports:

Brush Size

The size of the brush. By default, this property can be set between 1 and 100 but it can be modified if a bigger size is needed. Note that the size is specified in screen voxels, not in image voxels, i.e., the effective size depends on the Zoom level of the viewer(s). If the center of an image voxel is covered by the brush, that voxel is selected.
