Editor: Segmentation Workroom ()

Description:

The Segmentation Workroom is a tool for interactive and semi-automated segmentation of 3D image data. Image segmentation is the process of dividing an image into different subregions (also called segments or materials).

In , segmentation is done by first selecting voxels and then assigning these voxels to a particular material. The labels are stored in a Label Field (currenty, only 8-bit Label Field are supported). The Segmentation Workroom lets you edit such a label image. The final label image can be used to reconstruct polygonal surfaces using the Generate Surface module, or perform quantitative analysis of the different materials and the underlying image data.

Note: Only 3D grayscale image data (i.e., Uniform Scalar Field) can be segmented with the Segmentation Workroom. 64-bit float image are not supported. The Segmentation Workroom only supports up to 256 materials (including "Exterior"). For different cases, please check the other tools available in the Image Segmentation menu.
